Would you like to try an electric scooter in Paris?

We welcome you from Monday to Saturday in our stores in Paris and Lyon between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Consider calling our customer service specialists to make an appointment at 01.80.89.45.52

Why buy a foldable electric scooter for adults?

Are you still hesitant about switching to an electric scooter for your daily trips or for leisure? Here are the 6 points to take into account when purchasing an electric scooter, also called an e-scooter.

What are the advantages of the electric scooter?

The main advantage of switching to an electric scooter is the time saving that you will notice when traveling. No more waiting for the bus or train for 10 minutes, you are already at the next stop thanks to your two-wheeler! It is even possible with a lightweight electric scooter to complete your journey by public transport in order to further optimize the time saved on your journey if you have to travel long distances even if some electric scooters offer much more than 25 km or 30 km of autonomy.

Nothing could be simpler than driving an electric scooter! You climb onto the platform, activate the acceleration trigger and you are already propelled to the legal speed of 25 km/h on public roads as authorized by the highway code! Using the electric scooter is immediate unlike a hoverboard or a monowheel for example. Now that you know how to use it, find out how an electric scooter works?

The electric scooter is a new, space-saving means of travel for journeys ranging mainly from 20 km to 25 km. In fact, all electric scooters are foldableand can be easily stored under a desk or in the corner of the living room. Some even have transport wheels and we also offer storage bags.

If for you the price is a barrier to purchasing an electric scooter, know that your investment will be profitable in just a few months of use. Between the savings on public transport tickets and the ever-increasing price of gasoline, the electric scooter for adults is one of the most profitable means of mobility.

We talk about electric cars every day to reduce carbon emissions in the air. Well, it's the same with the electric scooter! Using rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries, your new means of transport will no longer release CO² emissions. With an electric scooter to get around, you are helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Large French cities are setting up Low Emission Zones to reduce the number of thermal vehicles in the heart of cities. For our part, Weebot, via the WeeGreen initiative, is committed to taking care of the recycling of used batteries but also reducing our waste production and carbon footprint. We are fully committed to the fight against pollution in order to offer our cities and countryside healthier air where it is good to live.

One last argument to convince you to switch to an electric scooter? Look around you on the street! They are already there and we are talking about them more and more in the media. The electric scooter is definitely the trendy means of urban mobility for years to come.

In addition to avoiding pollution by not releasing any grams of CO2 into the atmosphere, riding an electric scooter significantly reduces noise pollution on your way. Indeed, science has recently discovered that noise has a direct impact on human life expectancy (up to 10 months less life expectancy!!!). The electric scooter allows you to improve your quality of life. The city of Paris also plans to fine noisy two-wheelers using sound radar. So don't hesitate any longer and switch to the smooth driving of the electric scooter.

Sustainable mobility package of €500 per year to go to work

Please note that if you go to work by electric scooter, your company can pay you a bonus of 500 euros per year to go to work by electric scooter , exempt from taxes both for the private employee and from your employer's social security contributions. Implemented since the end of 2020, it is a good way to leave your car in the garage and enjoy a modern means of transport. This will save you time compared to public transport even with a speed of 25 km/h on cycle paths.

The most asked questions about electric scooters

Here are the questions most asked by our customers when purchasing an adult electric scooter. They will also surely help you make your choice when purchasing an electric scooter model.

For a budget of 500 euros, the main models at this price will only be made to travel in the city. Our choice is the French scooter Inöe Bloomy (489€) which has the advantage of being more resistant to rain than other products on the market. Otherwise, a safe bet is the Inöe Tweeky scooter which does not revolutionize the genre but offers very good value for money.

Several choices are available to you in this price category.

For the city exclusively, or in addition to public transport, choose the Weebot Anoki scooter. Very maneuverable and fast thanks to its lightness, it is an efficient ultra-urban vehicle. You can even ride on cobblestones, because this two-wheeler has suspension.

Below 900 euros , Weebot recommends the excellent Kaabo Skywalker 8S which is a good compromise between speed, efficient braking and comfort. It has a look that stands out from the crowd and will allow you longer journeys (up to 45 km of autonomy) than with an Anoki.

If you are looking for the most powerful electric scooter at 1000 euros , you should definitely turn to the Kaabo Skywalker 10C . Thanks to its 60V of power, this vehicle has acceleration as fast as models costing more than 2500/3000 euros.

3 completely different choices in this price category. Looking for the electric scooter with the best driving comfort with its 9-inch tires and super soft suspensions, the Nami Stellar is what you need! The scooter most popular with our customers.

For urban journeys, the Dualtron Mini 21Ah is one of the best-selling models in France. The 21Ah version brings, in addition to its substantial autonomy, the addition of a second drum brake for greater braking safety. Essential in 2024!

For those who are looking above all for the champion of autonomy, it is the Minimotors Speedway 5 which wins the bet with its 24Ah battery offering up to 80 or even 100 km of use.

The Weebot Eroz Pulsar stands out. The Weebot Eroz Pulsar (€2,090), new for 2024, has both hydraulic brakes and a dual-motor system. On the menu, a top speed of 70 km/h for a huge range of 80 km. The best value for money choice for a budget of €2,000 to €2,500.

An electric scooter is considered light when its weight is less than 17 kg. If Xiaomi and its electric scooters have paved the way for success thanks to their weight of around 12 kg, know that our lightest electric scooter is the Inöe Bloomy electric scooter with a weight of only 16.5 kg on the scale as we saw in our top 5 lightweight electric scooters .

To date, our fastest electric scooter is the Dualtron X-II Minimotors electric scooter with a maximum speed reaching 110 km/h (remember that on the road, the legal speed is 25 km/h at best). It therefore exceeds by 10 km/h the previous Dualtron X model which reached 100 km/h in speed.

Which electric scooter to buy for use in town?

For urban use, no need for a powerful electric scooter, we recommend a lightweight electric scooter with good engine torque. For example, the Weebot Anoki electric scooter is very popular with our customers for its many qualities.

But the new range of electric scooters Inöe Bloomy, Inöe Tweeky and Inöe Sweemie, which compete with the famouselectric scooterXiaomi M365, are very successful products when it comes to riding around 25 km .

For a lightweight but powerful electric scooter model, the Weebot Anoki electric scooter , which benefits from the safety pack, is a good compromise.

It all depends of course on the model but in general an electric scooter battery has a lifespan of 1000 and 1500 cycles. On a model which has a range of 40km this still represents 1 to 1.5 times around the earth!

If on the road, the electric scooter must circulate in cycle path corridors (when possible) at a maximum speed of 25 km/h, use pedestrian areas as well as sidewalks with the scooter electric is only possible at a maximum speed of 6 km/h.

If you have already suffered a flat tire on the road with your electric scooter, we advise you to invest in an adult electric scooter with solid tires in the case of a lightweight electric scooter, or tubeless tires if you want a powerful electric scooter. You can always consult our article on how to avoid flat tires which will answer the question in more detail.

Electric scooters are not all equal when it comes to the danger of water. While riding on a slightly wet road is generally accessible to all electric scooters, riding in the rain is much more dangerous. Some electric scooters benefit from a more water-resistant design , as we noted in our waterproof electric scooter guide . The most water-resistant electric scooter to date is the Inöe Sweemie . It is equipped with a battery specially designed to withstand submersion in water up to 1 meter deep.

What is the point of having two motors on an electric scooter?

It is useful to have two brushless motors on an adult electric scooter if, for example, you have to climb steep slopes on your route. So you don't lose your maximum speed of 25 km/h to reach your destination without difficulty.

While most electric scooters are suitable for the city, there are many all-terrain electric scooters for thrill seekers and other nature lovers. With their speed far exceeding the regulatory 25 km/h, this type of cross electric scooter is equipped with a larger and much more efficient engine.

With a powerful electric scooter, you can often reach quite a surprising speed, allowing you to feel a better sensation of urban gliding, but also high-end comfort. For your safety, remember to wear a helmet when traveling on an electric scooter. .

Discover our article dedicated to this subject: Is a helmet compulsory on an electric scooter?

To ride on the road, it is still not mandatory to use a helmet on an adult electric scooter since the latest legislation of July 2020. However, we can only advise you to equip yourself with one, in order to ride with complete peace of mind, especially since the majority of injuries occur to the head. We have several models of helmets for electric scooters in our store, providing protection but also better visibility on the road thanks to certain models equipped with LEDs.

Is insurance required to ride an adult electric scooter?

Since July 2020 and the new law passed for the use of electric scooters (and other EDPMs), it is mandatory tohave civil liability insurance. It is therefore important to contact your insurance to find out if your electric scooter benefits from this coverage. Please note that specific insurance only covers one device. If you have several electric scooters at home, you must have as much insurance as there are 2 wheels used.

Electric Scooter Buying Guide

After explaining to you why it is interesting to buy an electric scooter, let's look at some important points for many of our customers. Whether it is the price, the power of the engine or the style of scooter we will try to answer you.

The price of an electric scooter varies according to many criteria such as the brand, power, battery, and the different options that a scooter may have. Models can be classified into 3 ranges:

- Entry-level models reserved for small everyday trips, for which you will need to count on €500.

- For a budget between €500 and €1000, there are more efficient and versatile models which will allow you to make longer journeys.

- Finally, if you want to purchase a high-end model, you will need to spend at least €1000 for a scooter that will have quality equipment and offer very good performance.

You can buy an electric scooter in a supermarket. Many brands offer electric scooters. The advantage of buying your scooter in a supermarket is the reputation of the brand and the trust you can place in it. Then, you can go to a store specializing in electric mobility to purchase your vehicle. You will be received by a specialist who will be able to answer all your questions and offer you a model adapted to your needs. Finally, if you want to buy your electric scooter online, you can go directly to a specialized e-commerce site like Weebot. You will find precise details of the models and different guides to identify your needs and the answers to your questions.

The 2024 regulation has set the minimum age for riding an electric scooter at 14 years old. This limit was set to ensure the safety of the youngest on the road. Indeed, the authorities believe that a 14-year-old has not yet acquired the maturity necessary to anticipate all dangers and adopt responsible driving. The minimum age was initially set at 12 years old before being changed recently. Be careful, if you want to ride an electric scooter with a passenger, it is strictly prohibited by law, even if the latter is over 14 years old. For more information on the age to ride an electric scooter and the 2024 regulation, find our dedicated article: What age to ride an electric scooter in France?

As you can see in our range there is a wide variety of prices when it comes to electric scooters. Entry-level models start around €500 with the famous Inöe Bloomy and can go up to more than €6000 for sports electric scooters such as the Dualtron X-II or the Weped RR.

As a general rule, your budget will mainly depend on the use you are going to make of your electric 2-wheeler. If you only need your cheap electric scooter on weekends to go to the park with the children, then a model like Bloomy or Tweeky will be suitable. With a maximum speed of 25 km/h as authorized by law, it is more than enough.

On the contrary, if your goal is to drive your car every day to get to work, it is better to spend on budgets of around €700-900 to be sure to invest in a reliable and quality model like the Weebot Anoki.

These models are perfect for trips of 20 to 45 km per day, such as the Eroz Kapacity 8 electric scooter, renowned for its reliability.

If you plan to ride more than 45 km per day, then we recommend switching to models with powerful batteries such as the Eroz Kapacity 10 electric scooter or the Weebot Zephyr . These models offer an average range of 70 km for a budget of €1,000 to €1,500.

In addition to the battery that will manage your autonomy, a key point to address in an electric scooter buying guide is the power of the motor.

Electric scooters can beequipped with one or two motors and their power is expressed in Watt. Positioned within the front wheel or the rear wheel, we recommend a motor of at least 250W. Below this engine you will not have enough power to drive at a good speed (i.e. 25km/h), especially for an adult.

Indeed, operating speeds are generally indicated for an average weight of 75 kg. If the weight that the electric scooter must support is greater, you may not be able to reach 25 km/h, particularly on slopes which require more energy from your brushless motor(s).

For us, the right motor power is between 250W (like the Inöe Bloomy) and 500W (like the Weebot Anoki scooter). This is what is necessary in town for stable driving with good recovery.

Finally, the most powerful scooters are equipped with dual motors (a motor in each wheel) and can deploy more than 5000W (again the famous Dualtron Thunder or Dualtron X). We are here in a very specific category of sports models which allow, in addition to reaching a maximum speed well above 25 km/h, to climb slopes greater than 30% without difficulty.

There is in fact not just one type of wheel on different electric scooters. If the light models, offering a maximum speed of 25km/h, are generally equipped with 8-inch tires, you should know that the size of the wheel influences not only the comfort but above all the driving stability of your electric scooter.

At higher speeds, stability on a foldable electric scooter is essential and the more powerful models are fitted with 10 inch tires, or even 11 or 13 inch tires (like the famous Dualtron X-II). The majority of electric scooters sold on the current market have wheels in 8 inch and 10 inch sizes.

Note that 10-inch electric scooters generally weigh more than models fitted with 8-inch tires.

This is a question that many of our customers ask themselves when choosing an electric scooter. But the question is much more complex than it appears at first glance because there is no model better than the other and each has its advantages. It all depends mainly on your use of the electric scooter.

If solid tires help to avoid punctures on the road, they are unfortunately less comfortable by transmitting more vibrations from the road into your arms. It is then necessary to check whether the suspension system can reduce the impact of vibrations caused by poor road conditions.

The inflatable tires can, for their part, either be with an inner tube (like on most bikes) or tubeless, i.e. without a tube (like the tires on a car) . These allow you to better absorb shocks on your journey and thus make your e-scooter more maneuverable, especially at maximum speed for enhanced safety.

The downside is that inflatable tires are more susceptible to the risk of punctures on your electric scooter, especially those with inner tubes. Tubeless tires are much less susceptible to this, having a thicker tire layer that is resistant to foreign objects present on the road.

Therefore, it is useful, for tubeless tires, to check the external appearance of the rubber from time to time to ensure that they are still sufficiently resistant.

Because even if our products are guaranteed for 2 years, tire wear is not covered at this level. This is why we recommend that our customers always check the pressure level of their electric scooter when it comes out of the box. Properly inflating your tires can greatly limit punctures or premature wear.

We generally recommend putting 3.5 to 4 bars in an 8-inch electric scooter wheel (inflatable tube tires) and rather 2.5 to 3.5 bars in tubeless tires 10 inches.

Between the use of tires on the road and the temperature differences (and therefore pressure) that electric scooter tires must undergo, there may be small pressure losses over time. Checking the pressure once a month seems ideal to us to avoid punctures.

Driving safety should never be taken lightly when riding an e-scooter. There are several braking systems depending on the model.

A lightweight electric scooter is generally equipped with an electromagnetic braking system present within the motor (installed in one of the wheels).

This braking directly integrated into the motor is adapted to the maximum speed of use of these electric scooters, generally not exceeding 25km/h.

On a powerful electric scooter, it can be coupled with a drum brake that directly pinches the rear wheel or front wheel using a cable actuating a buffer. This then makes it possible to maintain a shortened braking distance. If you notice an increase in braking distances, it is useful to tighten the brake cable as we noted in our article on maintaining an electric scooter .

Best of all, thedisc brake system(hydraulic or cable) is the most premium braking available on apowerful electric scooter. A simple set of pads bites a metal disc on the wheel to ensure effective braking.

If the pads wear out through use, they are however easy to change and inexpensive, to prolong the good functioning of the braking of the electric scooter.

Electric Scooter Comparison 2024

Here is a comparison of adult electric scooters sold in our Weebot store to help you choose your scooter. Whether for urban use exclusively, or for taking public transport, we necessarily have the electric scooter that meets your selection criteria.

If you would like more specific details on the differences between the models, we invite you to read our article on the best electric scooters .

The Weebot Anoki was also voted best electric scooter for the city. Meeting the criteria of weight, comfort, safety, value for money and also, but above all, reliability!

Different electric scooters do not travel at the same speed. On average, an electric scooter goes from 25 km/h to 35 km/h. But there is also a category of powerful and fast electric scooters with a top speed well in excess of the 25 km/h authorized on public roads.

  1. Dualtron X-II Electric Scooter (€6,290) - Rion 2 - top speed 110 km/h
  2. Electric Scooter Dualtron Thunder 2 (4290€), Dualtron Ultra 2 (3999€), Dualtron Storm (4490€), Zero 11X (3490€) - top speed 100 km/h
  3. Dualtron Thunder Electric Scooter (€3090) - max speed 85 km/h
  4. Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11 Plus Electric Scooter (€2999), Dualtron Victor (€1990) - maximum speed 80 km/h

  6. Electric Scooter Weebot Zephyr (1890€), Dualtron Raptor (1890€), Inokim OXO (3290€) - maximum speed 65 km/h

As with speed, the autonomy of an electric scooter is also very variable. An electric scooter can travel between 20 km, 35 km and 200 km because the user's weight must be taken into account.

Here is our top 10 electric scooter in terms of autonomy:

  1. Trottinette Electrique Dualtron Storm LTD (Limited) - 220 km
  2. Dualtron X-II Electric Scooter (€6,290) - 150-200 km
  3. Kaabo Wolf Warior 11 Plus Electric Scooter (€2999) - 150 km

In a hybrid style between the cross and city electric scooter, the Weebot Zephyr and the Kaabo Skywalker 10H, 10C, 10S+ range allow you to be comfortable on both terrains with more than 45 km of autonomy.

For the most urban users, the lightness of the electric scooter is an important criterion when purchasing.

Whether it's to transport it from your apartment to your home, store it in the trunk of your car when going out or simply as a supplement to your journey on public transport, a lightweight electric scooter can make all the difference.

Here is our Top 5 lightweight electric scooters:

Ranking of the best electric scooters on slopes

Therefore, it is not uncommon that on your way, you are faced with climbing slopes while continuing your navigation, even in an urban environment.

It is therefore important to check when purchasing your foldable electric scooter that the torque distributed by the motor(s) of your electric scooter is sufficient to allow you to reach the top without the risk of your speed significantly deteriorating.

Just like the motor, the battery of the electric scooter plays a fundamental role in its use on slopes.

Simply checking the range is not enough to simply give you information on this subject, which is why at Weebot we tell you on each product the percentage of slope that our electric scooters can climb.

  1. Trottinette Electrique Dualtron X-II, Dualtron Ultra 2, Dualtron Storm - 70%
  2. Kaabo Wolf Warrior 11 Plus Electric Scooter - 45%
  3. Dualtron Thunder 2 Electric Scooter - 40%
  4. Speedway 5 Electric Scooter - 37%
  5. Trottinette Electrique Weebot Eroz Pulsar, Dualtron Thunder, Dualtron Eagle Pro, Dualtron Ultra 2, Dualtron Victor - 35 %
